Puttering Around...

It's been a long time since I've made a blog entry, not by choice, but due to the fact that during my days off from work, I've been busy doing other things. I took a few pictures yesterday in the yard while puttering around, then decided to go east of the city to check out the sunset and to scope out potential spots to shoot lightning this summer. I also took a photo of the nice April storm from the top of my shed in my backyard that was near the Wetaskiwin area on the evening of the 10th. Pretty nice for early April. If I wasn't up at 4:00 am for work, sleeping all afternoon since I was sick, all while knowing a nice trough with instability was in the area, I most likely would have went for a drive to see that storm up close. Ah well, its only April!

The storm from my backyard showing a decent anvil and a pretty crisp updraft for April on the far right. Later on, more TCU's popped in the foothills near Drayton Valley and gave Edmonton a decent lightshow.
Eddie outside enjoying the nice Easter Sunday weather! Not so nice outside now while I type this as a low pressure system is giving us chilly, gusty northwest winds, and the chance for rain today and snow for Tuesday. I'll take the rain but the snow can F*@% off!

Nothing fancy here, just a shot of spruce foliage from my front yard with a cone.

The sunset from east of Red Deer on Easter Sunday. This is right out of the camera with my 10-22mm wide angle, but with a AdobeRGB color space.

3 bracketed exposures from the camera of the sunset combined in these 2 photos.

Glad you got to see those thunderstorms (even if from only a distance). We are still looking for our first rumbles here in the Calgary.

Soon enough I'm sure!

Mid April already, June/July/August is right around the corner! The fields seem pretty soggy, and I hope we have a few days of heavy rain before summer hits to aid in some healthy moisture around these parts for the storms to feed on.
